Halloween....one of my favorite times of the year. I use to love going out as a kid. Free candy... what more could a kid ask for??!! To be able to dress up and pretend to be someone else for a couple hours. What a grand idea!!
I remember one year when I lived in Norridgewock and was around 9 yrs old. There were two haunted houses and I pleaded with mom to take me to them. She gave in and did just that. One of them I backed out of going into. It wasn't that I was scared of it it was because I was dressed wrong. In the paper we got at school it said to dress up in costume and there was to be a party. Come to find out the info was wrong and I was the only one there dressed up. Of course I felt out of place and made mom leave.
Another place was just down the road from that one. I went into it and it was pretty neat. It had the usual Halloween themes. Stick your hand into a hole and feel what's on the other side. Usually it was suppose to be brains and guts. Most likely it was jello and spaghetti. In the barn there was this staircase and they had the classic head falling down the stairs. I thought it was all pretty neat. Always made me want to have my own haunted house for Halloween one day.
Last year was a bummer as it was the first Halloween that I have missed. I had to work at LL Bean that night so I missed out on everything. This year there is a possibility that I might miss it again. I am just not happy with that. Ashley is done for the most part but Logan still has a couple years left. I just don't want to miss out on that time with him.
One year was really funny. It was but yet it wasn't, at least for Logan it wasn't LOL! Chris, myself, Logan, Ashley and Cameron all went out walking around the neighborhood. Logan was dressed up as Darth Vader. He had on the helmet that does the voice changer. Well the face mask part was pretty big for him and it is tinted so he had a hard time seeing out of it. Of course it was dark out by then. We were walking across this one lawn and Logan walked right into a tree. Over backwards he went! I think it knocked him out for a second as he just layed there. We all saw it and heard the whack that it made. We never laughed so hard in our lives!
I just don't want to miss out on memories such as those. Kids grow up so fast!
October 21st
Outside My Window... The leaves have changed color and a light drizzle is falling
Well we went to the doctors appointment. While sitting in the waiting room it was brought to our attention that for what ever reason Chris's appointment was taking out of the computer. Luckily however, they said they would see him anyway. The place was packed so we had a little wait. 45 minutes later we saw the doctor. Chris's swelling had gone down a little and so the doctor decided not to do the biopsy. Chris of course was happy beyond words. Me... well, I was frustrated as I wanted to get to the bottom of this. So for treatment he told Chris that he is to suck on Lemon drops or Lemon candy. It will open up the glands in that area. While Chris is sucking on this candy he wants him to gently push on his checks and try to get the fluid to come out. He is thinking that perhaps Chris has a very small opening and that is why the ducts are being blocked. Time will tell.
As for me, well, I am still sick. Still hacking up my lungs so to speak. Yes... I probably should have gone to the doctor but I didn't. We figure that I had pneumonia and am still trying to get over it. I really didn't want to go to the hospital as I have no faith in the idiots there. We took Chris in early this year and they misdiagnosed him. Said he had an upper respiratory infection. He went back in the following week as he still wasn't any better. They were going to send him back home without doing anything. I wasn't having any part of that as I knew something more was wrong. I pushed and pushed and kept telling them that he was diabetic. Finally they agreed to do a x-ray and saw that it was indeed pneumonia. I was so ticked off! If it wouldn't have been for me pushing about him being diabetic they never would have done the x-ray and we wouldn't have known. Hence now the reason I don't want to deal with the hospital.
So there ya have it.
Well sickness has reached our family once again. This time it is the lovely flu. I thought I was finally getting better but as it would happen to be someone was coughing and I picked up what they had too. So now I have a double dose of a cold and a sinus infection.Chris is suppose to have his biopsy done today. At the moment he is in the livingroom sleeping as he was up all last night coughing. I am praying that he doesn't back out of it. I know he hates needles but he needs to have this done.We went grocery shopping yesterday. That was a lot of fun...NOT! I coughed my rear end off throughout the store. I was nice enough to think of others and bring a tissue with me to cough into at least. Some guy in a ride around cart decided to get mad at another woman and I due to our carts being in the isle. So went by me and did a mock cough cough at me as he went by. Now I had not coughed at all around this person. He was doing it cause he was pissed at us and wanted to get us sick with his cold. You don't know how badly that I wanted to turn around and cough my butt off on him!!! The guy was a real jerk. He went and got a worker to get him an item off the shelf that he could easily reach. Then when the person walked away and around the corner the guy set it right back on the shelf again and took off. That really ticked me off. Then I get outside in the parking lot and the guy is walking around and reaching for things and seemed somewhat fine. I hate people like that. I should have coughed on him and given him a real cold!!!The kids are home today as it's a holiday. We might do some cooking when we get back from the doctors. The apples need to be used up so we are thinking about some Apple Bread, Apple Crisp, Apple Butter, and perhaps Apple Pie.I will write more later!!Ciao
